SANBI offers basic annual salary of R487 197.00


The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to manage administrative operations of the Division and plan the most efficient administrative procedures and ensure all support activities are carried on efficiently and effectively to allow the other operations to function properly.

This position requires a degree in business administration, management or equivalent qualification at NQF 7. A relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires 6 years of work experience in the relevant field, 3 years of which should be in supervisory position(s).

The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: comprehensive knowledge of human resources, supply chain management, financial management, occupational health and safety, audit and risk within the context of a public entity, excellent knowledge and experience in the management of organisational finance, project management and financial report writing; advanced planning, organizing, problem solving, and interpersonal skills; excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook) is essential. The possession of a valid driver’s licence (minimum B) with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential. 


Key Performance Responsibilities include:
  • Provide administration services for the unit;
  • Fleet management
  • Ensure effective and efficient financial management for the unit
  • Ensure effective occupational health and safety services for the unit; and
  • Develop and manage human resources for the unit.
