Fixed Term Contract of Employment for 12 (twelve) Months
SANBI offers basic annual salary of R308 154.00 plus 37% in lieu of benefits

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to support SANBI’s proposal development processes for the Green Climate Fund and Adaptation Fund in the Adaptation Policy and Resourcing Division.

 This position requires a national diploma in Public Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Life/Social Sciences, Natural Sciences or equivalent qualification at NQF 6 with 4 years of work experience in the relevant field or a degree in Public Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Life/Social Sciences, Natural Sciences or equivalent qualification at NQF 7 with 2 years of work experience in the relevant field.  Postgraduate qualification in Public Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Life/Social Sciences, Natural Sciences or equivalent qualification with NQF 8 will be an added advantage.

 The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: Understanding of the environment, biodiversity, climate change and public sector. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, strong writing and communication skills, and ability to interact effectively and persuasively with diverse audiences. An understanding of stakeholder engagement processes. Project time management knowledge skills. Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Internet & Outlook). The possession of a valid driver’s licence or willingness to acquire one and willingness to travel.

 Key Performance Responsibilities include:

  • Render general secretariat and logistical support to the Division’s: stakeholder engagement processes;
  • Provide support for proposal development processes;
  • Provide support to project communication, reporting and learning processes; and
  • Provide general support for the Division, as required.
